Under this project, two water supply systems were constructed in the Pyanj District, Khatlon Region where access rate to clean water was 47% which was below the national average. The development of water supply facilities was one of the highest priorities identified by the National Development Plan (2007 – 2015) and National Water Supply Plan (2006).
1) Pyanji and three neighbouring villages
Planned population for water supply : Approx. 24,000
Water supply volume : 5,315 m³/day
Water source : Boreholes (L = 96.0 m x 4)
Facilities:
– One elevated water tank : RC; V = 1,800 m³; H =20m
– One administrative office building
– One borehole management building, including a disinfection room
Water distribution pipeline : PVC, f75 – 250 mm; L = approx.70 km; water supply pipe : 3,933 sites
2) Three northern villages
Planned population for water supply : approx. 5,300
Water supply volume : 735 m³/day
Water source : Boreholes (L = 90.5 m x 2)
Facilities :
– One elevated water tank : RC; V = 250 m³; H = 20m
– One borehole management building, including a disinfection room
Water distribution pipeline : PVC, f75 – 150 mm; L = approx.25 km;
water supply pipe : 834 sites
