Countermeasure for Traffic Vibration at Elevated Bridges using Tuned Mass Dampers (TMDs)
2010.2.13
TMDs (tuned mass dampers) were installed to the girders of elevated bridges to deal with the problem of traffic vibration at elevated bridges.
For the selection of an appropriate countermeasure, the time history response analysis program (vehicle travelling analysis program: DALIA) developed jointly by EJEC, Ibaraki University and Kozo Keikaku Engineering, Inc. was used. This program checked the travelling load while taking the dynamic interaction between vehicles and the structure into consideration.
